At The Collage Companies, we are proud to call Seminole County home. Headquartered in Lake Mary, Florida for over 40 years, we build projects that strengthen the foundation and fabric of the community.  So, when we were selected to partner with Seminole County on The Rolling Hills Community Park project, so close to home and close to our headquarters, we jumped at the opportunity.

On Saturday, April 11, community leaders, residents, and partners gathered in Longwood to celebrate a meaningful milestone, the groundbreaking of Phase I of the Rolling Hills Community Park and Roadway Improvements Project. Marked by ceremonial golden shovels and a shared sense of excitement, the event signaled the official transformation of the former Rolling Hills Golf Course into a vibrant public space designed for connection, recreation, and long term community impact.

Hosted by Seminole County, the ceremony featured remarks from key County leaders and offered a first look at what is to come. More than just the start of construction, the moment reflected a shared vision rooted in thoughtful growth, accessibility, and creating places where people can come together. The Rolling Hills project is a transformation in every sense, turning a former golf course into a dynamic public park that will serve Seminole County residents for generations. The new park will feature a variety of recreational amenities, open green spaces, and opportunities for outdoor activity, all designed to reflect the evolving needs of the community. Complementing the park is a series of roadway improvements that prioritize safety and accessibility for pedestrians, bicyclists, drivers, and transit users alike.

“Much of what we build at Collage is community-centric, and there is no better example of that than Rolling Hills,” said Rob Maphis, President of The Collage Companies.  “When we break ground on a project like this, we are not just building a park; we are building for our neighbors, our children, and the future we all share.   It is special to partner with Seminole County on something that truly matters.”

Phase I includes enhancements along North Street, helping to create a more connected and multi modal corridor. Funded in part by Seminole County’s Penny Sales Tax, the project underscores the County’s continued investment in infrastructure and its commitment to enhancing quality of life. At its core, Rolling Hills is about more than land use, it is about creating spaces that bring  people together. Parks have a natural way of becoming the heart of a community, offering places for families to gather, neighbors to connect, and individuals to recharge.

As construction begins, Rolling Hills is poised to become a destination that reflects the spirit of Seminole County, active and connected. The groundbreaking may mark the start of construction, but it also marks the beginning of something bigger, a place where community, recreation, and thoughtful design come together.
