News Release
Lake Mary, Florida – The Collage Companies (Collage) adds another team member to the list of construction professionals who have achieved the Designated Design-Build Professional™ certification from the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA). Keith Kolakowski, Pre-Construction Manager at Collage, received the construction industry certification in August. This Design-Build industry recognition identifies Keith as a qualified professional who practices Design-Build Done Right™.
A Civil Engineering graduate from Bucknell University, Keith Kolakowski has been practicing Design-Build with The Collage Companies since 2014. As a Pre-Construction Manager, Keith has served as the lead estimator on several high-profile projects in Central Florida including the historic restoration of the Orlando Amtrak Station, as well as the iconic Lake Lorna Doone Park project in the heart of Orlando’s West Lakes Neighborhood. Keith is most passionate about projects that help non-profits and organizations that serve the community, and because Collage has a niche in providing design-build services for churches, Keith gets to spend a lot of time walking local churches through the design-build process. He prides himself in helping these groups achieve the best value for their hard-raised funds.
With Design Build – the owner of a construction project manages only one contract with a single point of responsibility. The designer and contractor work together from the beginning, as a team, providing unified project recommendations to fit the Owner’s schedule and budget. Any changes are addressed by the entire team. Brian Walsh is President and CEO at Collage and was part of the inaugural DBIA College of Fellows, he says of the value of Design-Build within the construction industry today, “In the last twenty years, the Design-Build project delivery method has gained immense momentum with owners and developers for the inherent accountability and efficiency benefits of the system – and is now delivering something like half of all construction projects in the United States today.”
