A planned recreational portion of Creative Village is preparing to start construction soon.
The Creative Village park — a 2.3-acre green space in downtown Orlando — will start site work this week, City of Orlando spokeswoman Cassandra Lafser told Orlando Business Journal. The Orlando City Council on Oct. 5 had previously approved a $5.3 million agreement with Lake Mary-based The Collage Companies to construct the park.
A groundbreaking is planned for the park in December, Lafser added. It will include a 1-acre lawn for events and recreation as well as seating and a large “artistic circular trellis” that will provide a shaded area. Construction is set to be completed in third-quarter 2021.
