As we are adapting to new and uncertain times, it’s inspiring to witness local communities coming together with creative responses. Collage was honored to be a small part of the contribution made as – CEMEX USA and Orlando Health unveiled a new blue heart-shaped concrete monument and courtyard in appreciation of frontline healthcare workers at Orlando Health—Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, Florida for their extraordinary service, loyalty and commitment to their patients and community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

General contractor, Edwards Concrete Company, and Bruns, Inc., designed and constructed the project. Turning the CEMEX blue-heart vision into a unique courtyard for our instrumental healthcare workers.  Parkforms, Inc., and Allen and Company, Inc., donated two benches for the courtyard while The Collage Companies and Florida Fence Products provided the railing surrounding the project. BrightView Landscape Development supplied the landscaping to additionally beautify the space.

HOUSTON and ORLANDO— (July 24, 2020) — CEMEX USA and Orlando Health unveiled a new blue heart-shaped concrete monument and courtyard Friday in appreciation of frontline healthcare workers at Orlando Health—Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, Fla., for their extraordinary service, loyalty and commitment to their patients and community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Representatives from CEMEX USA and Orlando Health held a special ceremony Friday at the site, observing proper physical distancing guidelines, to dedicate the monument and courtyard. CEMEX USA donated and poured approximately 15 yards of white concrete for the courtyard and a specialty blue concrete to create the light-blue heart monument, a symbol of love and support for healthcare workers. The heart is the focus of a new courtyard and seating area outside a hospital entrance utilized daily by healthcare workers at Orlando Health—Health Central Hospital.

“Our frontline healthcare workers are essential in the fight against COVID-19, and they are doing all they can to help keep people in the community safe,” said CEMEX USA Regional President—Florida Region Jeff Bobolts. “At CEMEX USA, we are committed to health and safety with protocols in place aimed at stopping the spread of COVID-19. With this courtyard and blue heart, we wanted to show the frontline healthcare workers we appreciate their hard work and thank them for their outstanding dedication to their patients and community during this extremely difficult time.”
