Rob Maphis, CGC, DBIA, LEED AP BD+C
Rob Maphis is President of The Collage Companies, a national commercial general contracting, design-build, construction management and development firm based in Florida. Rob oversees the company and its various sectors of work throughout the U.S., including commercial, transportation, parks and sports, hospitality, and religious facilities.
Since graduating with honors from the University of Florida in 1993 with a degree in Construction Management, Rob has held an array of positions in the construction industry. Rob holds construction licensure in a number of states, including as a Certified General Contractor in Florida. He is a Design-Build Professional™ from the Design Build Institute of America, identifying him as a qualified professional who practices Design-Build Done Right™. He also has maintained accreditation from the US Green Building Council as a LEED AP BD+C since 2006. Rob’s experience includes direct involvement with of a multitude of facility types, including hospitality, K-12 schools, colleges/universities, transportation, aviation, railway, healthcare, federal, park, and municipal projects.
Rob has received recognition from the University of Florida as Outstanding Young Alumnus (2010) and as Distinguished Alumnus (2017). He received the Sam Hovsepian Award (2008) and Chairman’s Award (2017) from the West Orange Chamber of Commerce. Under his leadership, the Collage Companies has received multiple awards as a top workplace and, in 2022, Rob received Special Award for Leadership from the Orlando Sentinel, ranking highest for the statement, “I have confidence in the leader of this company.”
Rob has served in numerous volunteer positions throughout his career. Since 2017, Rob has served a gubernatorial appointment on Florida’s Construction Industry Licensing Board which regulates construction contractors and their businesses as part of the State’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Rob has served appointments on the Orange County Board of Adjustments and Appeals and has volunteered on numerous Boards and charitable organizations. He has been part of the West Orange Chamber of Commerce for decades, serving as the organization’s Chairman and on its Board of Directors. Rob is actively engaged with a number of community, business and charitable groups, has been a mentor to numerous students and serves in leadership positions for a variety of other volunteer organizations.
