Grace Orlando
Orlando, FL
Collage converted an existing 43,297 SF industrial building into a new, Mid-Century Modern Style church with a worship center, Third Place (lobby), classrooms and meeting spaces, children’s wing, and offices.
A non-denominational church with six campuses throughout greater Orlando, Grace has been growing since its founding 14 years ago… so it needed a permanent home. The new building will enable Grace to open centralized classrooms, provide a primary worship facility, and create a community hub for ministry.
Following a three-day charrette, the Collage-BGW team designed an open floor plan for Grace. The plan maximizes people-flow throughout the building, organizes the space more efficiently, and creates a roomy and functional feel. The bright, spacious lobby has vaulted ceilings, hanging lights, a coffee bar, open seating, intimate gathering space, welcome center and exposed ceilings. The cozy second floor, balcony lounge overlooks the foyer and is complete with couches, throw rugs, floor lamps, tables and chairs.
The sanctuary features a large performance platform, cry room, back stage green room, recording room, and youth worship center / group area with access to kitchen and third space making it ideal for event hosting.
The children’s area has two nurseries, an indoor playground, secure check-in center, community room, prep room and fully furnished classrooms with decorative wall panels, ceiling clouds and colored carpet throws throughout.
Administrative offices, conference space, reception area and work room, with all the modern amenities, are located just off the lobby for easy access to the sanctuary and children’s center. The aesthetics throughout the building are warm and welcoming with a contemporary flare to appeal to any age group.
